HR 590: Access to Treatment
With the passage of House Resolution 590 in May of 2016, DDAP has been charged with convening a Task Force (TF) comprised of representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), PA Insurance Department (PID), Department of Human Services (DHS), licensed treatment programs, patient advocates and parents/loved ones. It is the function of the TF to review public comment made through a public comment period held during the month of August, as well as to review the testimony presented at 6 hearings to be held across the commonwealth in order to assess barriers to accessing SUD treatment and benefits. The TF will analyze current laws and resources about access to treatment services to determine what recommendations can be made to the general assembly to address the identified barriers via a written report. The following information provides additional information about the task force and the process, as well as provides written copies of the testimony provided at each hearing.
